I can share my ideas and achievements all I want, but, what’s really important is that what I do matters to YOU, the residents of Beaumont. Therefore, I am very grateful for these words of support.

Steve is a first-class, stand-up Albertan whom I’ve enjoyed getting to know. A solid business man, dedicated leader, loving father and husband to an amazing Beaumont family. I had the pleasure to work with Steve at Navus where I was the oldest employee finding my new normal after a successful 25 year Canadian Army career. Steve valued my service to Canada while making me feel appreciated and respected as an employee and manager. Working alongside Steve was the highlight to my foray into the civilian workforce. Steve is a hard working person who gives everything he’s committed to 100% and drives to deliver with an energetic “can-do” attitude...a winning attitude!

I moved to Beaumont in 1999 when the town was only 6500 people. As it grew, the councils of the past, were fixated on the concept that they could keep Beaumont a small town even though the population was growing at an astounding rate. It left Beaumont devoid of services, businesses, and infrastructure. This status quo mentality allowed developers to run amuck, and taxes to increase without any benefit to the residents. This council inherited this lack of vision and have made great strides to reverse this antiquated philosophy. I believe Steve was a major part of this reversal. As a business owner he knew that in order for Beaumont to be more than just a place to live, there needs to be a healthy balance between a residential tax base and business taxes. This vision has not been fully realized but through conversations I have had with Steve I know this is what I can expect from him as long as he remains on council. For that reason I fully support him in his bid to win a second term on Beaumont council.

I have followed Steven since he was elected as a Beaumont town councillor in our previous election. I have gotten to know him quite well over the last 4 years, and I now consider him a friend.

As a person who values the importance of our elected officials, I am overjoyed that Steven is again seeking the position of councillor. He loves our city, and him having a part in those processes that manage our tax dollars efficiently is very important to me and many others. He has demonstrated that he is very competent relative to every issue that our council has to faced to date. I also appreciate that he digs deep to seek solutions, ideas, etc. relative to the enhancement of our city.

The best thing about Steven, in my opinion, is that he walks the walk . He is a motivated guy who is always easy to contact, and follows up on the issues of concerned residents. I know he always returns your calls or emails, as I have personally dealt with him over the last 4 years. I am only behind 2 incumbent councillors thus far, and Steven is one that I support 100%. Our city is very fortunate to have a man of Steven’s character and integrity. I strongly encourage Beaumont residents to vote for Steven vanNieuwkerk on October 18/2021.

I couldn’t think of a better person to represent the residents of Beaumont. Steve is honest, hard working, has a good business sense, a ton of practical business experience, he genuinely cares about our community and is running in this election for all the right reasons.

Steve has been a great community resource for our household since joining Beaumont council. As residents, Steve has provided us with assistance and quick action when required - one example that comes to mind is ensuring that our kids could safely cross the street in a high traffic area by pushing for, and ultimately getting a crosswalk installed. As volunteers within the community, Steve has always been visible at community events and has provided our organizations with support and advice where required. We are happy to support Steve in the upcoming election.
