Council Meeting – February 12, 2019

Tonight’s council  meeting was a good one! We were able to hear from our Chamber of Commerce, the Beaumont Society of the Arts…and move some new land forward for development in Dansereau!

6. PUBLIC HEARINGS

a) Bylaw 934-19 Dansereau Meadows Redistricting Phases 10 - 2nd & 3rd Reading

Stantec Consulting Ltd., on behalf of Anthem United, has made an application to redistrict a portion of NW ¼ Sec. 34-50-24-W4M (within the Dansereau Meadows Neighbourhood). In order for development of the subject lands to proceed, the Land Use Bylaw requires amendment from AR–Agriculture Reserve District to DC- 120 – Dansereau Meadows Small Lot District and DC – 121 Dansereau Meadows Medium Density District.

 b) Bylaw 935-19 Dansereau Meadows Redistricting Phases 11 - 2nd & 3rd Reading

Stantec Consulting Ltd., on behalf of Anthem United, has made an application to redistrict a portion of the N.W. ¼ 34-50-24-W4M in the Dansereau Meadows neighbourhood. Dansereau Meadows Phase 11 is located east of Range Road 243 and south of Township Road 510 (Attachment 1). In order for development of the subject lands to proceed, the Land Use Bylaw requires amendment from AR–Agriculture Reserve District to DC-118 – Dansereau Meadows Zero Lot line District.

7. REGISTERED PRESENTATIONS

a) Beaumont Chamber of Commerce Presentation

 A presentation was provided to increase awareness around the role of the Chamber in Beaumont, and, some of the positive impacts the Chamber has in our community. They also shared their future goals in Beaumont.

 b) Beaumont Society of the Arts Presentation - 2018 Events, Financials and 2019 Plans

 A review of 2018 and a look into 2019 was provided by the Beaumont Society of the Arts.

 8. BUSINESS ITEMS

 a) Place Beausejour Subdivision Approval Extension (SDA 15-16)

 A one-year extension is required to the subdivision approval for SDA-15-06. The extension is being requested to allow more time to finalize details prior to creating separate ownership between Beaumont Aging in Place, Beaumont Supportive Living, and Covenant Care.

 b) Development Permit 2018-643 (50569 Range Road 244 – secondary suite in accessory building)

An application was received on December 6, 2018 (Attachment 2) for a development permit to allow the continued operation of a Secondary Suite within an Accessory Building. The subject property is located at 50569 Range Road 244, and is situated along Township Road 510 and Range Road 244.

 9. BYLAWS

 a) Bylaw 946-19 - Beaumont Municipal Library Board - 1st, 2nd & 3rd

 Under the provisions of Section 9 of the Libraries Act, the Council of the City of Beaumont deems it necessary to establish a Municipal Library Board;

 Through Bylaw, Council is required to appoint members of Council and members of public to the Municipal Library Board. Council members are appointed for a one (1) year term and public members are appointed for a three (3) year term.
